Meet Joey Chandler. He's a purpose coach, video producer, photographer and soon to be author. His forthcoming book Not In My Lifetime, outlines his process for identifying one's purpose in just two questions and then how you can use your life purpose life to address various important areas of life.

He believes that by identifying one's purpose and expanding their ability to share and experience that purpose, one can accomplish whatever goals they decide to achieve; including those that are often accompanied by the caveat, "but that can't happen in my lifetime." 

Identifying His Goal in This Lifetime

His book, Not In My Lifetime is based on his Know Your Purpose Program and the reason he's putting almost the entire program in a book is to satisfy his goal to end racism in his lifetime.

He figures racism (along with sexism, homophobia and other biases) simply gets in the way of people either experiencing or sharing their purpose. Joey believes that if he can reach a critical mass of Americans (20% is 75 million people) and help them identify and leverage their purpose, we can start the important conversations around how racism negatively impacts us all.  His first book and online program is his way to reach as many people as possible.  

His Process

Rather than writing out a few good chapters and repeating himself over and over again as he has often found to be the case in some self-development style books, he is using the first few chapters to outline his process and then has created 30-40 short 1-2 page chapters to talk about how the process can be applied to particular areas (health, finances, confidence, self-expression, leadership, etc).

He then asks the reader to pick the three or four chapters that most speak to them and read those. They will find that the process for applying their purpose to these areas is rather repetitive so there isn't the need to read the entire book unless they want to. That is actually the power of purpose in that it applies to areas throughout one's life. As you deepen your understanding and facility with your purpose in one area, that helps you apply it in other areas.
